Join the team redefining how we compute.
TBC is for the intrepid. For people drawn to unanswered questions. Who look at AI and know we have not found the best way to build it yet. Who are willing to cross disciplines, challenge assumptions and venture into the unknown to discover what comes next.
This work isn't for everyone.
The people who thrive here tend to share a few things.
Rigorous about evidence.
Ambitious about possibility.
We hold big ideas to rigorous standards: strong controls, reproducible experiments, and honest benchmarks.
We follow the evidence, including when it proves us wrong. And we keep pushing at questions others might dismiss as impossible.
Deep in one thing.
Curious about everything else.
Neurosurgeons, neuroscientists, biologists and AI researchers work side by side.
Be the expert in the room one minute and the beginner the next. Go deep in your craft. Ask questions outside it. And get comfortable saying, “I don’t know. Show me.”
Think in decades.
Deliver every week.
Our long-term ambition is real-time biological computing. But progress has to show up every week: reproducible findings, stronger benchmarks and useful software.
The horizon is long. The work in front of us is immediate.
“I don’t know of another company bringing so many disciplines together like this. We’ve had to build a shared language because the breakthroughs happen in the connections between them. That’s what makes the work so hard, and so transformative.”

William Barnes, PhD
TBC’s First Full Time Employee
There's no other team built like this.
Biology, neuroscience, AI and engineering rarely work as one team. Here, they do.
A discovery can begin with real neurons and end up running inside an AI model.
You don't need to be an expert in every discipline. You need to want to work with people who are.

Do your best work here.
We give people the support, ownership and room to do work they’re proud of. Here are a few of the benefits that come with working at TBC.
Equity upside
Everyone at TBC has equity in what we’re building and the opportunity to share in the success and value we create together.
Benefits & wellbeing
Medical, dental and vision coverage, 401(k) matching, plus a budget for fitness, wellness and commuting.
Paid parental leave
Generous paid parental leave gives new parents the time and space to focus on what matters most at home.
Relocation support
We help make moving easier with relocation support and access to a TBC corporate apartment while you get settled.
A few things you might be wondering.
Bio-derived.
We run experiments on real neurons on electrode arrays, measure how they process information and translate useful discoveries into software.
Biology is part of the discovery process, not a metaphor for it.
Today, biology sits upstream of deployment. The neurons are part of our discovery loop, not the customer’s inference loop. The resulting software runs on standard AI hardware.
Longer term, we are building toward systems where biology and silicon compute together directly.
Depends on the role. Our biology and neuroscience positions require relevant expertise; most other roles do not.
Curiosity matters across the company. You'll work with people from different disciplines, and learning from them is part of the job.
Both, deliberately.
We use biological research to discover better ways to compute, then test those discoveries in real AI systems.
Today, that means inference optimization. Over time, the same work supports new architectures and real-time biological computing.
The distance between an idea, an experiment and a decision is short.
You'll work directly across teams, with close access to the founders and meaningful ownership of the outcome.
We care more about finding what works than protecting how things have always been done.
Come shape the future of computing.
Some careers let you improve what already exists. At TBC, you get to invent what comes next.
